Part of my problem was probably timing, but I had been working yesterday on getting everything copied over to a new hard drive so I could reformat my main and get rid of a bunch of crap. I set the computer to copying last night and went to bed. When I woke up, I started the re-image process. I don't think I was fully awake because I probably lost a bunch of stuff by mistake.
Being as I've been surfing the net for years and always remembered to copy my favorites folder before reloading, I forgot this time. I had a ton of old bookmarks that were really junk anyway. Like the link to Dollar Bill Origami. Not that i'll ever need it but I did have some that I could have really used. I lost the links to a few of the blogs that I read on a regular basis. More easily remade links are all the ones for financial stuff, banks, credit card companies and such and all the news sites I check out. It really does free me from a lot of clutter but it makes for a little work that I hadn't been planning. Less time for fun stuff.
I also am having a hard time remembering my AIM password. I tried to reset the password but I can't answer my own security question "what is your favorite restaraunt?" I don't know, that was 10 years ago, sheesh. Tastes change.
I don't remember if my outlook PST file was saved in a particular folder or not so I may have just lost all my email. sigh.
I guess there is a positive side to all this, my computer now shuts down and restarts a LOT faster.
