Ghost stories

I was up late last night there's nothing better late night than channel suicide. As I was flipping channels I saw what I instantly recognized as Bobby Mackey's. A local country bar complete with mechanical bull.

It turned out that the show was Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. Now I don't really believe in ghosts and really don't care for ghost chasers on TV. you can't really tell what's real and fake without being there yourself.

I had heard growing up that Bobby Mackey's was haunted but never actually heard the full story. there was a book being passed around about it but I never caught the name. Last night I got the full story and the book is called Hell's Gate.

I got the chills several times last night while watching the show, probably more because it was cold and the producers of the show last night did a good job of providing suspense without really coming off as fake.

wasn't scary enough to give me dreams of any sort though. It looks like the crew from ghost adventures is even coming back for a ghost hunt and party in January too. But with tickets going for $259 each, you won't be seeing me there.

  1. I know I'm just now getting to this, but your blog is bookmarked on my computer...which is with my husband. I'm going to send the link to myself so I can have access to it at home.

As someone who inhales anything ghost related, I've heard about this particular story I don't know how many times. My grandmother (mom's side, obviously) use to go there a lot when her boyfriend Chuck was still alive (he was a musician). The last 2 times we went up there I asked my mom or Nanny to take me, but they wouldn't...they refuse to go into a bar these days. Only "trashy" people go to bars. *eyeroll*
